| Kevin Dadoly is an accomplished artist and innovative art instructor. His approach to painting and teaching brings together his creative energy, his extraordinary use of color, and a complete understanding of composition. His talent and personality are artfully interpreted on the canvas giving the viewers an inspirational and colorful experience whether it is a watercolor or oil. He does not see color like we do, as Dadoly is colorblind. Instead, he intuitively feels and intimately knows the meaning of color, having studied color values with great intensity and having mastered the colors of the palette. Kevin believes that being colorblind has it advantages. "While I might not know what color something is, I understand the light or darkness of the color, in other words, I understand the values. I need someone to tell me the color and then I know how to mix it and apply it to the correct value. So in many ways being colorblind can be very helpful. The biggest problem is when I paint alone. There are more shades of green than any other color and for some reason, when I paint alone everything I mix ends up green! This is why I became a glaze painter. I apply one color, let it dry and then apply another color to it thereby changing and managing the color without losing track of what I am trying to achieve. I lean heavily on the science of color and maintain a full working knowledge of the color wheel. I use a systematic way of organizing and mixing colors in order to achieve the values that are critical to my paintings." Dadoly is a signature member of the Copley Society of Boston. He has had several one man shows including St. Paul's School, The Gallery at Harget, Concord, NH and the Whistler House Museum, Lowell, MA.
